• Global Switch provides clean, uninterruptible power backed by redundant feeds, generators, and UPS systems. The N+1 power provisioning system includes four 500kVA primary and two 500kVA secondary UPS systems.

• Global Switch Sydney site is 41,575 square meters of Tier 1 level raised floor space. This data center features floor to ceiling height of 4.1m and floor-loading capacity of 3,400 Kg/m2.

• Global Switch HVAC systems comply with N+1 specifications and include a centralized chilled water plant with multiple redundant chillers piped in parallel ensuring continuous reliability and satisfying all cooling requirements.

• This backup HVAC system (which is also based on an N+1 configuration) illustrates Global Switch's facility design philosophy: All mission critical components (i.e., power, HVAC, security, etc.) are backed by Service Level Agreements ensuring 99.999% uptime.

• Premium bandwidth is provided by Telstra, Optus, MCI/Verizon and Pipe Networks, empowering network redundancy, ensuring extremely low domestic latency, and providing optimal international connectivity.

• Each server is connected to the network at 100 Mbps, ensuring bandwidth bursts are available whenever required. All network wiring is of the highest standard, with proprietary wiring protocols and procedures developed by a professional engineer.

• Used are only the highest quality network equipment; routing is accomplished using industry-leading Cisco 7206 VXR routers, and Cisco switches, with completely redundant Cisco router and switch "spares" available for immediate installation in the extremely unlikely event of a catastrophic network hardware failure. Each router provides up to 2 Mpps (millions-of-packets-per-second) routing performance and include integrated multiservice interchange (MIX) functionality.
