Depending on what's on the server you could be looking at a few hours to 24 or so. As Bob mentioned that the new server is in the same DC (or 'datacentre' to those folks that don't know what it stands for) it should copy across at LAN speed

Ahh ok, I thought there was some sort of conversion process, and not just copying of the data. I suppose it would be easier if there was no HDD Upgrade, as just replacing CPU/RAM would only take a few minutes, motherboard upgrade, bit longer.

Is the HDD imaged and dumped onto new drives or?? IE Norton Ghost Server or Acronis Server Enterprise? Other specialised software?

Aussie Bob, I read that you own other IT based business. Is an ISP included in any of them? I don't like my max download quota :(

20GB of data moved, and 10GB to go.

As each site is migrated, it gets routed over to the new server. We're working from A to Z . . .

The migration to the new Koala server has been completed.

If anyone was using the old Koala main IP to access their WHM/cpanel, please use this path and not the IP -

http://122.201.73.206/whm
http://122.201.73.206/cpanel

Also make sure you upload to the new IP -

122.201.73.206

Does this change affect the IP address of the mail servers too? (e.g. mail.*.com) Or is it just web/whm/cpanel that's affected?

This won't change email settings, just the access points to WHM/cpanel if you've previously used the IP/whm or IP/cpanel paths.

I'm thrilled to say that after a few teething problems with the new servers (e.g. a few sites that were a little picky with moving) everything is back online and both myself and my customers are wrapped about the speed of the new server.

Hopefully Aussiehost gets a few good years running out of it

Had a few post migration issues, but much less than I've experienced over the years. It was very smooth and the migration script we built ensured this.
