Regarding the speed issue, we added eaccelerator, which seems to have done the job.

Regarding the Fantastico issue, one of the admins is checking into that . . .

Whoops, sorry for posting that after you had said it was being looked into - I totally missed a whole heap of posts and hadn't even seen this went over pages.
